Graffiti Research and Stencil Expermientation

I have been researching a variety of different graffiti artists, graphic designers and other zines to get a better understanding of the art and the format of zines. I have also been experimenting with creating stencils of my own art; both traditional methods, like drawing the stecil and then cutting it out, and digital, such as using photoshop to edit photos and text together and also illustrate original pieces. I am also going to try to use CAD to assist in stencil making as it theoretically will allow me to get much detail in my pieces and in much less time.

As well as focusing on stencils, I also participated in a workshop on making different tyes of zines and books. We created three different formats including a hardback, floating spine book. This workshop allowed me to consider different ways to present information and informed me on how I may approach my own piece in an original and creative way.
